History Behind the ' Road to Wellness'
Health Fair?

To be completed.

Why the target group?

The fair is focused on the target group as we try to address common limitations to accessing health care services, which are further complicated in the African immigrant and refugee community by language barriers and cultural differences in approaches to health practices. We will be providing interpreters during the event, and collaborate with existing agencies for translated materials where necessary. We are advocating prevention and encourage providers to provide free screening during the fair. Major issues to be addressed will be diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiac diseases, asthma, cancer, TB, HIV-AIDS, mental health, nutrition and dental care to name a few.

What else can participants benefit from this College Fair?

Participants can expect to learn more on how they can best advocate for their health. They will know where certain resources are and how to access them. Most importantly, participants will have a chance to get free screening for a variety of major diseases and establish contact with their neighborhood clinics.
