Your Count Matters
The Importance of Census Participation

If you are counted, the federal, state and local governments will include you in the budget. It is therefore very important that each one of us gets counted in order for these governments to have an accurate estimation of members in the community for the available money to be distributed. Your count benefits you and your community.

CWAA in collaboration with the U.S. Census Bureau has organized a presentation aimed at increasing awareness on the importance of census participation. We believe there are more immigrants and refugees in King County than are recorded by the census bureau. Undercount of ethnic, immigrants and refugees in the U.S. census may be a result of misunderstanding the relevance of the census, its confidentiality, immigration threat and language barrier.  Please come to this presentation given by the U. S. Census bureau officials and learn more about the importance of participating in the census and recent changes (American Community Survey) in the census process (ACS Q&A). Local government officials will be available to connect the relevance of census data and fund allocation.

Where: Van Asselt Community Center, 2820 South Myrtle St., Seattle, WA 98108
When:  21-July-2007,  Saturday
Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
